Project updates

Update by Joan Tatters

Hi

Yesterday I dropped in surveys to those of you who live in Arkley Crescent, Bruce Crescent and Miers Avenue, if you get the time would you kindly complete them and send them back. For every returned form £1 will be donated to the charity WATERAID.

Whilst we are "done" it's likely we will be back for a short time as my colleague at Northumbrian Water has taken on board your comments about the gate leading onto King George field and we hopefully will be opening it soon.

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to you all, your understanding, generousity and patience has been really appreciated during the project.

I know the site team will miss the goodies they received along the way, the cake always went down a treat.

Best Wishes from us all !!!!!

Well Hello All,

Today was a bitter sweet day (literally) for me today, saying "Good Bye" to some special people along Arkley Crescent, by this time next week we will be off site and moved on to another project.

The grassed area over the  tank area is starting to grow in really well, I've attached some photos, it all looks tidy and in a few more weeks you will hardly notice we have been there.

We still have a little work to conduct by the manhole on Arkley Cres, again it will be complete next week.

I will logg in next week to confirm our departure date so you haven't quite "got us out of your hair yet" haha.

Thanks to the residents of Arkley you have all be so understanding during our work and look Loren..............more cake, ginger!!! Thanks it was delicious know who you are!!

Good afternoon All, as the works are nearing a close we now have the surfacing sub-contractors coming in tomorrow and Monday.

They will be starting from the top of Bruce Crescent and at the same time from the track into King George field first. From there they will then be making their way down from Bruce Crescent to Miers Avenue and finally the tie-in point of Arkley Crescent/ Miers Avenue.

See below for some Before pics of the job, once the resurfacing is complete we will post after pictures.

Once again thanks you for you understanding and patience during the period of our works.

Hello

Just a quick update as we trott along.... getting closer and closer to the end!

You will have noticed by now in King George Field the work is progressing well, the topsoiling and reinstatement work is really starting to take shape, so much so we are anticipating to complete all work within the field by the end of next week.

On Miers Avenue, all pipework within the carriageway and the reinstating of the tarmac will occur next week which will ease the traffic, we will then progress up Bruce Crescent for the upgrade of the next round of sewers.

Again, thanks to you all for your patience and have a great weekend.

Good morning all,

I was out on site yesterday and Ben gave me the 'Grand Tour ' of the site and explained all of the hard work the team have been doing and the progress made. I have taken a few picutures to show you the work behind the barriers, also a couple of pictures of the field which we dug up for the tank to be housed underground, has now been partley top soiled and will soon be ready for seeding.

Once again MMB and Northumbrian water would like to thank you for your patience.

Happy Easter from all of us here and enjoy the Bank Holiday Weekend!

Good Afternoon Everyone

As it stand we are progressing with works on Arkley crescent and anticipate it to be open in 2-3no weeks. In King George field works are progressing well with the access track now being installed and further landscaping works are taking shape.

On Miers Avenue there have been some delays due to unforeseen clashes with utilities which we are looking to get diverted sooner rather than later.

On Bruce crescent we are installing pipeworks from the junction of Miers Avenue onwards up Bruce Crescent.

Thanks again for your patience during the work..........the end isn't too far away.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Just thought I'd drop you all a line to say "thank you" to those of you who dropped into see us yesterday, we really appreciate it more so as the weather wasn't too good. It was really pleasing to hear that whilst our project has been very visual and has been a little longer than expected your patience and tolerance of it all is so commendable.

On a personal note it was lovely to meet more colleagues from NWG and Elaine I can say your company was a pleasure.

Oh and Vera, thanks for the gingerbread!

Good Morning,

I hope you all remain well, I would like to give you a progress update and invite you along to visit "Flo" our community vehicle.

The site team are working hard and continuing to make good progress on this major engineering project. This work is vital to help reduce the risk of flooding, I am sure that you will have found our work inconvenient at times and I would like to thank you all for the patience you have shown throughout these ongoing works.

The storage tank in King George V Playing Fields is complete and we are working on the construction of the relief sewer back towards Arkley Crescent where a control manhole will be built. MMB continue to install the sewer along Miers Avenue and we hope to be up to the junction with Arkley and Bruce Crescent by the end of February. Sewer installation will then continue along Bruce Crescent and we are working towards a mid-April completion.

I wondered if you were aware that there are simple things that you can do to help reduce the risk of flooding around your home?

I would like to invite you to come along and find out more about our Rainwise initiative and how we can all work together to manage rainfall better to reduce flood risk in future. Making small changes around your homes can have an impact on the resilience of the sewer network against flooding. This is also your opportunity to let us know how you think things have gone and anything we could have done better.

Flo will be parked on Miers Avenue, between the Waller Court and Purves Place junctions on Tuesday 27 February, 2018, between 9.00am and 4.00pm, please feel free to call in and chat.

If you cannot come along on the day and have any issues you would like to discuss with us you can telephone our Customer Contact Centre on 0345 717 1100 to arrange a call back from the Project Team.

Many Thanks

Ian
