This week they will also be carrying out the planned work on the pumping station shaft, this should be completed by the end of the week.

Thank you

Christine

Update by Christine Taylor

Good afternoon,

Before we finish for the week, and enjoy the weekend, we wanted to provide an update

Local residents will have received a letter this week with regards to our work moving onto Castle Terrace.  The letter advises that we will have 3 way lights on Castle Terrace at the junction with Paxton Road for approximately 5 weeks.

Simon and his team have constructed a new surface water manhole and diverted all exiting flows through it to enable construction of the new pumping station.  Next week, an extra gang will be on site to start the foul manhole which runs into the pumping station.  The other gang will be working on the construction of the manhole on Castle Terrace in the traffic management.

Have a lovely weekend.

Update by Christine Taylor

Good morning,

I visited site on Friday afternoon and had a look around.  It was very quiet as the guys had left site when I got there.  Simon was on holiday last week, but I have caught up with him today and he explained to me that they have been carrying investigations on the existing drainage on site.  The work will be out of the way for now, but this will change next month.  I will have a catch up with Simon in a couple of weeks and we should be able to provide a detailed update.

Enjoy your week, I hope the sun returns for us all.

Update by Ian Davison

Hi

I hope you are well and have enjoyed the sunny weather over the Bank Holiday weekend.

I can confirm that our supply partner Esh-Stantec will commence onsite on the 14th June. The engineering project comprises the construction of new pumping station and rising main (pumped sewer) along with remedial works to an existing private drain which will subsequently be adopted as a public asset. The pumping station will be constructed in the location of the old laundry tank at the junction of the access road to Castle Hills House with the unmetalled access track serving the cottages. The new rising main will be routed in the grazing field to the north west of the cottages before connecting into the existing public sewer on Castle Terrace adjacent to Castle Hill Cottage. The temporary construction compound will be established in the field between Lillybrooke and Castle Terrace. Access will be maintained to all properties throughout the construction works.

We anticipate that our work will take up to 6 Months with completion anticipated in November 2021 however, as with all civil engineering construction, unexpected delays can sometimes occur. I would like to thank you for in advance for your cooperation while we complete this essential work

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Kind Regards,

Ian

Update by Ian Davison

Hi All

Hope you are all well.

Just a quick note to advise that a ground investigation contractor will be undertaking additional boreholes in the grazing field between Paxton Road and Castle Hill Farm Cottages. The work is planned to get underway week commencing the 10th May and should be completed within a couple of days.

This is a geotechnical investigation which will allow the engineering team to assess the ground conditions within which the rising main installation is proposed. Upon completion the land will be reinstated back to the original condition.

We will be back in touch soon confirming the construction start date, we are working towards the main works getting underway early in June

Many Thanks

Ian
