Project updates

Update by Christine Taylor

Good morning,

I wanted to take this opportunity to wish all our customers a Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2020.  We would also like to thank you all for your patience and understanding whilst we have carried out our works, thank you for being amazing!

As you can see by the picture my team are in the festive mood.  Both Tony and Becky are taking time off to be with their loved ones over Christmas along with the site teams, but wanted to show off their Christmas jumpers.

I will be working over the Christmas and New Year period if you have any concerns.  You can contact me by commenting on this post or alternatively calling 03457 171100.

Merry Christmas, stay safe and be kind.

Christine

Hi Everyone

I was passing Cone Terrace yesterday, so stopped to have a look at how our reinstatements are looking. I've attached a few photos and its almost like we weren't there! Obviously there is evidence of our work, and we will return in Spring 2020 to ensure that the reinstatements are on track, but I'm sure you'll agree that so far, the lads have done a good job of returning the area to its former condition.

Regards

Tony

Hi Everyone

I'm delighted to share that we've finished early on Cone Terrace! We were due to finish by the end November, but due to the dedication and hard work of the site team, we've managed to get completely off site by Friday 25 October 2019. The compound and all fencing have been removed and the grassed areas have been landscaped and seeded. We have also  reinstated and opened all roads and footpaths.

We'd like to thank all local residents for you understaning and cooperation while we have completed this work.

I was out this afternoon delivering a letter to those close to the work - a copy of which can be viewed here.

Regards

Tony

**GREAT NEWS**

Hi Everyone

As you've probably already noticed, we managed to remove theTraffic Lights from Cone Terrace!! This is great news! Due to unexpected ground conditions it had already taken longer than hoped, and we feared it may take a little longer again, but due to the hard work of the lads on site, we managed to finish the connection and reinstate the area last night. Residents now have the parking bays back and the road is free flowing again.

We really are in the home straight now and there isn't a lot left to do - I'll provide further updates on when the enquire project will be finished soon.

Regards

Tony

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

As residents of Cone Terrace will have noticed, we have been unable to complete the work in the footpath there as expected. We had hoped to be finished in that location by today, but due to challenging ground conditions this has not been possible. We will continue to work hard to achieve this as quickly as we can, but may have the traffic lights in operation for up to another three weeks. We apologise for the continued disruption and inconvenience.

Here is a copy of a letter delivered to those overlooking the work this afternoon.

Enjoy your weekend

Hi Everyone

We're continuing to work towards completely finishing our work at Cone Terrace - the end is in sight although still a bit of work to do! This week we've been starting to reinstate the footpath to the South of the Burn and installed a fence around the pipewhich crosses the Burn - I've attached pictures showing our progress.

We've also started the long task of removing the compound area - you'll notice that we are removing cabins and moving the fencing in so the area is much smaller.

Hi Everyone

Well, as you will have noticed, we still have traffic lights on Cone Terrace. We had expected to have finished working in footpath, reinstated the area and removed the lights by today but have had to extend this until Friday 18 October.

The reason for the extension is that we have come across unexpected ground conditions that have really slowed us down.

This means that the traffic light will remain in operation over the coming weekend.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will endeavour to work as quickly as we can to get this part of the job finished.

On a brighter note, progress has been good throughout the rest of the work and we are still working to programme, so should be off site fairly soon - We'll update you with more accurate dates when we are able to.

Have a good weekend

Tony

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

I've been to site to see Lawrence and the team today and been provided with an update. We've made pretty good progress along the footpath to the south of the Burn and have now reached the footpath on Cone Terrace. Over the next few days and into next week we will dig along this footpath and lay the necessary pipes in the ground. We will then resurface and we expect to remove the Traffic Lights by the end of next week. We are still on programme to finish on time, so haven't got too much longer left on site

Hi Everyone

We're continuing with the drainage in the footpath off Cone Terrace and this week will be installing the drainage actually on Cone Terrace. The traffic lights there have been in place since last monday, and whilst we haven't been digging in Cone Terrace initially, we have been receiving deliverieds through this location. We hope to quickly work along the footpath and will get the traffic lights off as quickly as we can.

The reinstatements on the grassed area off Hopgarth Gardens where we used to have part of the compound have now been landscaped and seeded, so we hope this will establish over the coming weeks.

We are still currently on target to finish as expected, so hopefully won't be here for too much longer!

Hi Everyone

We're moving ever nearer to Cone Terrace. This week we're working on the manholes in the footpath south of the burn and will reach Cone Terrace on Monday 23 September 2019. This will result in two way traffic lights in Cone Terrace for up to three weeks. We had expected this to take four weeks, but managed to reorganise a little and save a week. We'll work as quickly as we can to get the road fully open again.

I've attached  a couple of recent photos.

Tony
