Project updates

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

I've been on site catching up with Lawrence and the site team. We're continuing to make good progress in Chesterburn. As previously mentioned we're finished the drainage to the North side of the Burn and now working in the footpath to the South, where we've completed the first manhole. We're now working along the footpath towards Cone Terrace.

It was expected that we we would need to impliment a lane closure in Cone Terrace from Monday 16 September 2019 for 4 weeks. However, the good news is that we've managed to reduce this to 3 weeks and it now won't start until 23 September 2019.

I've attached a photo of the completed manhole.

Enjoy your weekend

Hi Everyone

I've been to site today to check in with Lawrence and the team on how we are getting on. There was so much visible progress from my last visit last week, you can really see how far we've come.

We've landscaped the grassed area North of the burn, and installed the pipe across the burn. We've also started on the manhole just to the South of the footbridge. Next week we'll start laying the pipes along the footpath before getting to the road on Cone Terrace. Further updates will be provided as we go on dates etc and we'll be in touch with those directly impacted.

I've attached a few photos illustrating how far we've progressed

Hi Everyone

Things are moving along nicely. We're just about finished on the North side of the Burn, we've constructed the base for the pipe crossing and laid all the pipes in the grassed area off Hopgarth Gardens We will start to reinstate this area next week and reduce the size of the compound area here.

From Monday we will start laying the pipe across the Burn and then start digging through the footpath towards Cone Terrace.

I've taken a couple of pictures and have attached them

Have a nice weekend

Hi Everyone

You will have noticed that we have started working on the South side of The Burn now. We've set up a small fenced area for storage and we are working by the bridge in preparation for crossing The Burn. We are still expecting to finish working on the grassed area off Hopgarth Gardens in the next coupe of weeks, however this area will be retained for storage - albeit a much smaller area.

It looks like the weather over the weekend may be improving, so enjoy your bank holiday!

Hi Everyone

As you will see we are continuing to work on the grassed area of Hopgarth Gardens.

On Thursday 22 August 2019 we will need to hand dig two trial holes in the footpath opposite Cone Terrace. A footpath closure will be in place for that day only while we complete this task, please follow the diversion. (The photo attached shows the footpath that I am referring to)

We will then need to close the footpath directly to the North of the Burn from Monday 26 August 2019. This will be in place for a period of up to 2 weeks.

I have attached a copy of a letter that will be received by those overlooking the work here

Hi Everyone

As you can see, we've now established our compound area just of Hopgarth Gardens and we have now started on the drainage work at this location. Next week we will continue in the same vein and start on the drainage towards the pipe bridge across the Burn.

I've attached a couple of pictures taken this morning.

Hi

You may have noticed that work has started on the grassed area off Hopgarth Gardens. We've started setting up our compound area and will be beginning the pipelaying soon.

I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce the team. Managing the site and with control over the day to day activities on site is Lawrence Davies. Mark Nicholson is the Contracts Manager who will oversee the scheme as a whole. Customer Service Manager is Christine Taylor who is responsible for engaging with the community. And finally, I will be working closely with Christine and regularly attending site to help with any issues or concerns that our neighbours may need to address.

If you see any of us around, feel free stop us, we're happy to chat and answer any questions you may have.

Regards

Tony
