Durham City Sewer Network Improvements

We are planning work to improve the performance of the sewer network in Durham City and improve your environment.

Update by Sarah Jayne Parvin

Good afternoon all, a quick update to keep you posted on the progress we are making in the two locations we are working in, in Durham, Old Elvet Storage and Walkergate.

Old Elvet Storage

We took possession of the roadside closest to the Royal County Hotel mid-August to start with the installation of the storage pipes. Since then we have carried out investigatory work and started preparing for the installation of the storage pipes. You may have noticed that currently there is no activity on site, this has been due to a hold up on the delivery of the pipes, which we are now expecting back end of next week. We will be back on with it as quick as we can, once the pipes are delivered.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Walkergate

The fencing and Heron have been temporarily relocated whilst we carry out the work on the new outfall manhole and installing new pipework towards new Combined Sewer Outfall (CSO). As previously mentioned there will be some overnight work and although we don’t have any definitive dates its looking likely this could be towards the back end of this month/Early October. We will communicate the dates as soon as we have something firm.

The team and I would like to thank you for your continued patience and understanding while we carry out these essential works.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch at SarahJayne.Vickers@JNBentley.co.uk or alternatively us the contact us link at the top of this page.

Thank you.

Sarah
