Update by Paul Davison
Good morning,
I'm pleased to confirm that construction work to upgrade Embleton treatment works will begin on Monday 19 July 2021 and expect the work to take up to 10 months to complete, however, as with all large-scale construction projects, unexpected delays can sometimes occur.
The sewerage treatment works is located to the south of Embleton village adjacent to Spitalford Bridge. Given the location of the existing treatment works, we don’t expect significant customer disruption, however, there may be a noticeable increase in construction traffic through surrounding villages between the A1 and our site during the construction period.
Advanced traffic management signs will be erected along the Embleton to Craster road alerting road users of construction work. While the vast majority of construction plant and deliveries can access and leave the site without impacting on traffic movements, there may be occasions when we will need to use ‘stop / go’ controls to safely access the site with abnormal loads.
Please be assured that we are working closely with our partners to do all that we can to minimise any disruption to you and your community throughout the work. Typical working hours will be Monday to Friday, between 8.00am and 5.00pm.
Regards Paul
