Esh Winning Sewer

Northumbrian Water are working in your are to improve our sewer network to reduce the risk of pollution incidents in Esh Winning. The Esh Winning sewer runs in close proximity to the Priest Burn and, at times of heavy rainfall, it can present a risk of pollution to the river. The solution we identified to this includes the installation of a new pumping station in the field opposite South Terrace and a new pipeline along the main road into the sewage treatment works.

Update by Becky Gartland

Good morning,

I hope you all enjoyed the gorgeous weather over the weekend, its looking like we're in for another sunny day today too!

With regards to our progress on site, the tarmac has now been reinstated following the first completed section of drianage installation. You will have noticed that the traffic management has now moved further along South Terrace as we continue to progress with the second section.

The shaft of the pumping station is now at the required depth with all rings installed successfully and the concrete pour for the base was completed yesterday.

Have a lovely day!

Becky
