Esh Winning Sewer

Northumbrian Water are working in your are to improve our sewer network to reduce the risk of pollution incidents in Esh Winning. The Esh Winning sewer runs in close proximity to the Priest Burn and, at times of heavy rainfall, it can present a risk of pollution to the river. The solution we identified to this includes the installation of a new pumping station in the field opposite South Terrace and a new pipeline along the main road into the sewage treatment works.

Update by Becky Gartland

Good afternoon everyone,

It was lovely to speak to some of the residents of South Terrace whilst I was on site on earlier in the week and great to hear some of your lovely feedback too!

Here's a quick overview of what has been happening on site over this last week:

Pumping Station Area

- Excavations are complete and the concrete blinding base has been installed.

- Work has commenced to install the PCC Valve Chamber, we are expecting delivery of the components on Monday 27th September from which we can start to get these installed throughout next week

Highway Works

- Excavations are complete with edge protection boxes installed ready for pressurised pipework to be installed and tested next week.

As always any questions, please get in touch and hope you all have a lovely weekend!
