WATER NETWORK IMPROVEMENT

Ferryhill Water Mains Replacement

Ferryhill Water Mains Replacement

Update by Chris Reay

Dear Customer

Improvement work to upgrade the water network in your area

You may remember that we wrote to you in September 2019 to let you know details of essential work we are carrying out to upgrade the water mains in your area.

This work is being carried out by Fastflow Pipeline Services to make sure you continue to receive excellent quality tap water in the future. This involves the construction of a new water main from Ferryhill Service Reservoir past the junction of Wood Lane all the way through to Chilton Lane.

Work will now begin on Duncombe Bank from Monday 13 January 2019 to Friday 28 February 2020.

During this time it will be necessary to install a rolling series of temporary traffic lights between Hemsley Court and Walker Terrace, 4 way traffic lights will be used at the junction with Linden Road to keep traffic flowing and safeguard the workforce carrying out the work.

We will do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum however there may be times when you may not be able to park directly outside of your property. Whilst the work is underway you may also notice some increased vehicular movement and noise.

If your water supply is discolored please run your cold kitchen tap for up to 30 minutes. If you have a water meter, please let us know as you may receive an allowance on your bill.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and understanding in advance of this essential work and please be assured that we’ll do everything we can to minimise disruption.

Alternatively, you can telephone our customer contact centre on 0345 717 1100 or tweet us @nwater_care to speak to a member of our Project Team. Whichever way is best, we’d really like to hear from you.

Yours faithfully

 Brian Hardy
