Fontburn Water Mains Upgrade

Northumbrian Water are working to improve the water network in the Bedlington and surrounding area. The work has been divided into various phases and will be carried out by both Northumbrian Water and Esh-Stantec. This work will include: the maintenance of existing assets (valves) and the installation of new assets on our strategic water mains from Fontburn to North Tyneside. Other works will include the de-commissioning of some existing water mains predominately in Bedlington area, and the installation of control and monitoring equipment across the general area mainly at Northumbrian Water sites. These improvements will contribute to greater control and monitoring of the water network in maintaining supplies for the future.

Good afternoon,

Following my update yesterday, we thought it would be prudent to let customers know that we are currently working on Choppington Road, opposite Glebe Road.

We have two-way lights in place to allow our work to be carried out safely on the Water network.  We expect these lights to be in place for up to 8 weeks.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss further.  You can do this by commenting on here, or using the contact us button on the main page.

Have a good weekend.

Hi Everyone

Just a quick update on what we're getting up to on this scheme. At the minute we are working on Harbour View under two-way traffic lights. We've been there since 25 November and will finish the work in this location by 14 February 2020. Before that, we will be pulling off site for our two week Christmas break tomorrow. We will return on Monday 6 January 2020 and work initially in the grass verge opposite the houses. Work will then continue into the footpath and road. When we work in the road two-way traffic lights will be in operation.

Regards

Tony
