Forrest Park

We are investing over £1,000,000 to improve and extend the sewer network in Aycliffe to support Durham County Council’s ongoing Forrest Park development.

Update by Paul Davison

Hello,

Further to my previous update below, we were unable to return to site at the beginning of November and instead are preparing to start work to correct the defect along St Andrews Way footpath starting on Monday 10th of December. This will include the removal of the  trench backfill material (clay) and replaced with compacted stone prior to the re-construction of the footpath.

It will be necessary to introduce temporary traffic lights along St Andrews Way to re-construct the footpath starting with 4 way lights at the roundabout with Heighington Lane prior to the Christmas shut down. We will then return to site in January to complete the work switching to 2 way lights as we progress towards Millennium Way and expect to be complete early in February 2019.

A small welfare cabin will be located at the new Forrest Park pumping station site (adjacent to McDonald Restaurant) for the duration of the work.

I appreciate this may cause further disruption for the short period while we complete this  work and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and cooperation.
