Grassholme Reservoir

We are about to start work at Grassholme Reservoir. The bank-side below Carl Beck is slipping. We will be installing monitoring equipment including Inclinometers to monitor the movement in the bank-side. To install this equipment we will have to erect a temporary works platform. We expect this work to last for around 8 weeks. During the work the footpath running by Carl Beck will remain fully accessible. We would really like to hear any comments or questions you may have, so please get in touch using the 'Contact us' button at the top of the page or leave a comment below.

Project updates

Update by Brian Hall

Hi everyone

Hope you are enjoying the nice weather, Lunedale is beautiful when the sun is shining* We have been busy on site as you will have seen if you have been around the reservoir, digging boreholes for testing and erecting scaffolding on the bankside up from Carl Beck where we will be installing the monitoring equipment. Everything is going well and on schedule and hopefully the good weather will continue for a while and allow us to make good progress. Have a great weekend everyone

The team have made a start this week. Access formed to the working area and ground mats put down to protect areas. Can any walkers please take care when walking past the work area. A banksman will be present during busy periods of plant movements. Road cones will be placed to demarcate pedestrian routes. Any questions please ask any of the site team. Next step is to erect the scaffold platform to allow the inclinometers to be installed. Thanks, Martin.
