Guisborough Road, Nunthorpe

We are upgrading the sewer network. This will increase the resilience and reliability of the network and will involve installing 240 meters of surface water sewer pipe in the area of Guisborough Road, Beverley Road and York Road. We will work closely with the local authority regarding the reinstatement of roads when the works are completed.

Planned work

We plan to divert a surface water sewer around a defected NWG sewer to remove potential flood risk on a privately owned culverted watercourse. The surface water sewer diversion will be approximately 240 meters in length, starting from Guisborough Road, in to Beverley Road and in to York Road.

We plan to start on site week commencing 16th July 2018 to set up the site. To construct the scheme safely and due to the position of a strategic water main, we propose a full road closure on Guisborough Road during the summer holidays to ensure minimal traffic delays and expect this to last five weeks. We will then move onto York Road and Byland road, constructing the sewer diversion under a single lane closure. We are anticipating all work to be completed by 9th November 2018.  We propose to place our working compound on a field adjacent to the play area on Byland Road.
