Project updates

Update by Nick Warner

Hello

I just wanted to provide a further update regarding our work in Hepscott.

The good news is that the major construction work at the site is now complete.

As you may have noticed, our supply partner ESH, have been on site since early last week. They are currently working on the installation of land drainage to the bottom of our works. Once this is complete, reinstatement work will follow. At this point in time, we anticipate that reinstatement will commence on Monday, 24 May 2021 and is scheduled to be complete by 28 May 2021. In the meantime, Esh have confirmed that the topsoil that we intend to use for the reinstatement work will be delivered next week, during 18 & 19 May. The delivery itself will be via heavy vehicle – approximately five loads - over the two days noted, to deliver approximately 100 tonnes of topsoil. As always, our aim will be to ensure any disruption to residents is kept to a minimum.

As with my previous updates, these timescales remain weather dependent, especially bearing in mind current conditions. Whilst we remain confident of meeting these expectations, the topsoil we intend to use will require favourable weather.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch by contacting our Customer Centre by telephone on 0345 717 1100. Please ask to speak with a member of the project team.

You can also leave comments on this site, but please be aware they are not constantly monitored and so we may not be able to respond as quickly to contact via this method.

Kind regards

Hello

I hope you all managed to enjoy your Christmas & New Year break, strange though it will no doubt have been for many of you.

The good news is that our works continue to progress well and are still on course to be completed by the end of March this year. The final piece of large equipment is being delivered to site this week, during what we anticipate will be a short visit. We are in the process of putting the finishing touches to the hard-standing areas in preparation for our electrical contractors who will commence work during the end of next week.

Finally, it’s not possible to provide an update without mentioning the weather! We remain conscious of the impact of the winter climate on the progress of our work and continue to keep a watchful eye on all the weather reports.

I look forward to being able to provide a further update next month. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch by contacting our Customer Centre by telephone on 0345 717 1100. Please ask to speak with a member of the project team.

Hello

After my introduction last month, I just wanted to provide a further update regarding the progress of our work on site.

Our work continues to progress well although, as I’m sure you will have realised, the weather continues to be less than kind to all of us and has made site conditions far from ideal for our team. Whilst this has undoubtedly made the progress of some of our work slower than we would prefer, we are pleased to report that we remain on course to complete our project by the end of March next year.

We currently anticipate being able to complete the installation of all hardstanding areas, including access footpaths within the site prior to the Christmas break.

We are of course, approaching the end of the year; a time when many take annual leave to spend time with family and friends. Whilst our site team will suspend work from 18 December 2020 to 4 January 2021, from an operational perspective, the site will continue to function fully, serving the community as it always does. Our normal operational team will therefore remain and adhere to their usual work patterns, retaining full access to the site during the festive period.

I look forward to being able to provide a further update early in the new year however, in the meantime I wish you and your families well during the end of year break.

As before, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch, either via this portal or by contacting our Customer Centre by telephone on 0345 717 1100. Please ask to speak with a member of the project team.

Kind regards

Hello

I’m Nick Warner, Customer Care Manager, at Northumbrian Water. I’m working closely with our Project Manager, Paul Black, and our supply partners during our essential work in Hepscott. I hope you and your families are keeping safe and well during what has been a challenging year for so many of us.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself to you and to give a further update after Paul’s initial posts last month.

Work continues to progress very well, despite the weather, which I realise is only to be expected at this time of year. It’s good to be able to report that our project is still on course to be completed by the end of March 2021.

The significant part of our preliminary heavy engineering work is now very advanced and well on the way to being completed. Over the next couple of weeks, you may start to see our larger plant being moved off site.

I look forward to being able to provide a further update as our work progresses. In the meantime however, we remain open to understanding your views about this project and how we can continue to minimise any disruption for you and your community whilst the work is in progress.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch, either via this portal or by contacting our Customer Centre by telephone on 0345 717 1100. Please ask to speak with a member of the project team.

We do of course continue to appreciate your patience and understanding.

Kind regards

Update by Paul Black

Hello

Work is now underway on site. We have our welfare facilities all set up, machinery on site and most importantly the people that make it all happen.

Unfortunately, the weather has not been kind to us and it’s getting a little muddy on site, but the good news is this is not causing us any delay. We are still working to be complete at the end of March 2021.

If you have any questions? Please get in touch via this portal, we are happy to help.

Many Thanks

Paul Black

Update by Paul Black

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our team and project.

I am Paul Black Northumbrian Water Project Manager and I will be looking after this scheme through to its completion. The scheme will be delivered by Northumbrian Water’s delivery partner Retroflo lead by Colin Peacock.

Starting October 5th we will be carrying out construction works at Hepscott sewage treatment works to improve storm storage and flow management through the treatment process. Improvements will need to be made to the access track to the works (which extends from Park Side) to prevent further deterioration. Please be aware that the track will remain open throughout.

As the project develops I will keep you informed about our plans and progress by sharing our proposals with you on this portal. I am very interested to understand your views.

The team will post regular updates throughout the project and if you have any queries or want to make us aware of any additional assistance you require from us then please use the ‘Contact us’ button at the top of this page or post on this feed.

If you prefer a telephone conversation or require any further information or advice please contact our Customer Centre on 0345 717 1100 or visit www.nwl.co.uk to request a call back from the project team.
