Our proposed new screens will allow us to remove more solids from the influent. This will reduce maintenance activities and ensure an efficient site that is free of blockages and has significantly reduced wear and tear to the mechanical equipment. WHERE WE WILL BE WORKING AND WHAT IT WILL INVOLVE
Lockhaugh STW
We will be replacing the two existing inlet screens with new ones which will allow us to remove all solids and rags from the influent. We will also be upgrading two pumping stations on site to deliver washing water for the screens and increasing the number of rag compactors from one to two. These compactors ensure that we keep the number of skips containing rags that go to landfill to a minimum.
We shall be modifying existing concrete structures to facilitate the new equipment.
Our construction work will be within our existing site boundary and is expected to start March 2020 and complete March 2021.
