Hello everyone.

Since my last update we have continued to make really good progress with our planned works, nearly completing all the repair works needed to the decant arms inside of the basin.

Our activities for the next week will surround finishing some minor further works to the decent arms, before we start to test and commission the basin to make sure everything is working as expected. We will then start to plan bringing the basin back online. During the week you may notice a crane returning to site which is needed to undertake this part of the project.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation while we carry out this vital work. If you have any comments or concerns, please comment below or use the contact us button at the top of the page.

Hello everyone.

This week we have continued to make really good progress with our planned works, removing debris from our basin and cleaning it ready for the next stage. This will involve undertaking repair works to the mechanical parts in the basin called decant arms, and is the focus of our project’s next few weeks.

This picture shows one of our these decant arms – which is key in helping to separate solids from treated effluent in this part of our treatment process. It shows the huge amount of ‘rags’ which are non-degradable/inorganic items which are flushed down the toilet. These have collected on the arm and are one of the reasons we need to undertake this project.

Remember – “Only paper, pee and poo go down the loo”!

Thank you for your patience and co-operation while we carry out this vital work. If you have any comments or concerns, please comment below or use the contact us button at the top of the page.

Hello everyone.

This week we have made good progress with our planned works, which have involved draining and cleaning one of our treatment basins. During this time, you may have noticed tankers coming to and from site, which has been essential to help us complete this part of the project.

Our activities for the next week will surround continuing to clean the basin and due to the progress we’ve made this week, we will require fewer tankers. This part of our project is planned to last for two weeks. Following this, I will provide you with another update on the rest of our works.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation while we carry out this vital work. If you have any comments or concerns, please comment below or use the contact us button at the top of the page.

Our project at Marske STW will involve carrying out essential maintenance refurbishment works to one of our treatment basins. As we are getting started, our planned activities for the next week will involve site set up and some pre-start tasks which we need to undertake before we can start our works fully. After this we will have our site set up and project team ready, and we will begin by draining and cleaning our working area before starting our maintenance works.

I will provide you will another update on these works soon.
