Project updates

Update by Chris Reay

Morning residents of Millfield,

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic accross the country, we are now only carrying out essential works throughout the region following instruction from our government. This is to protect the public and our employees throughout this challenging time. This now means the Millfield job will now been suspended until further notice, but firstly the site will be closed down and left in a safe condition.

Thank you for your understanding and patience,

Brian Hardy

Afternoon Everyone

On the back of Brian's post I'm Amanda Hunt, Customer Care Manager for Northumbrian Water and part of the project team who will be upgrading the water mains in Millfield.

You should have received a letter from Brian last week with details of the upcoming work and an invite to a customer event at The Red Lion Pub on Thursday 6 February between 4pm and 7pm.

We understand that work of this nature can be very invasive and we hope you can pop in to meet the project team and discuss any comments, queries or concerns you have.

I can't make it on Thursday but my colleaque Steve Forster and the rest of the project team will be there so please pop along and say "Hello". If you can't make it you can always use the 'Contact us' button at the top of this page if you do have any queries or would like to speak to a member of the project team.

Good afternoon everyone, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, I am Brian Hardy Northumbrian Water's Construction Network & Design Project Manager. I am the project manager responsible for making some upgrades to your water mains in your area to make sure you continue to receive excellent quality tap water in the future. As part of this programme, our supply partner Fastflow Pipeline Services will be replacing the water mains serving the properties in Wheatriggs, Wheatriggs Terrace and Wheatriggs Avenue. We plan to start this work will start on Monday 17 February 2020 and should be complete it by Friday 8 May 2020. Before we commence work, it will be necessary for us to access all gardens to complete a survey. As part of this work we will also be renewing your external stop tap and the pipework to the new water main. It will be necessary to turn off your water supply for short periods throughout this work and we will notify you in advance of any interruptions. A road closure will be used to safeguard our workforce as agreed with Northumberland County Council throughout the duration of the works. We will do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum, however there may be occasions when you may not be able to park directly outside of your property. I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding in advance of the work and if you do have any questions please telephone our Customer Contact Centre on 0345 717 1100 or tweet us @nwater_care to speak to a member of our Project Team. Yours faithfully Brian Hardy Project Manager
