Murton (Berwick) Water Treatment Works Upgrade

As part of our ongoing investment programme and to ensure the highest level of customer service, we are planning to extend and improve the existing Water Treatment Works at Murton, near Berwick. It is intended that the new works will be located adjacent to the existing buildings. The main construction work commenced in late 2018 and is due to complete in September 2020.

Just thought I'd give you our update of whats' happening:-

The team are continuing to prepare the site, I've attached some photos
For Health & Safety reasons we have decided to extend the road closure until 1st March, after all working in the highway is a hazard and the last thing we want is anyone getting hurt.
Today the deep excavations work for the new pipeline starts, they will be across the road outside the works compound, so please be mindful of the road diversion.
