Update by Becky Gartland

Good afternoon all,

I just wanted to pop on and provide you all with an update on how things have been going on site over the last week.

Last Week:

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday we experienced flooding across the site at a low level area to the toe beam
  • Work consisted of waiting for the high river levels and flows to subside before carrying out repair operations to the coffer dam and toe beam excavation
  • Blinding on the next section of toe beam has been delayed again as a result of the flooding experienced across the course of the week

This Week:

  • Complete excavation works to toe beam at low level
  • Blind out the excavation with a layer of concrete to start forming the low level toe beam
  • Diamond drilling of the new piles to allow the new toe beam to be secured

So far the weather has been a lot kinder to us this week, we're keeping our fingers crossed it remains dry for the rest of the week!

From Friday 17 December 2021 our site team will suspend working for the Christmas and New Year period, resuming on Tuesday 4 January 2022. Our customer team will remain operational during this time if you have any concerns.  You can contact us by commenting on this post or alternatively calling 0345 717 1100.

Thank you

Work completed last week:

  • Ongoing work to repair the damage caused by the flood events. Repairs carried out to the coffer dam wall and low level excavation for toe beam

  • Blind out the dig layer of concrete to start forming the low level toe beam
  • Diamond drilling of new piles to allow the toe beam to be tied back

If you have any queries relating to this section of work, please get in touch with us.

Good afternoon

I have just received a call from Adam on site.  Over the weekend we have had a couple of issues; one of which was a break in and the other was the weather.  As the team are clearing up and contacting the relevant people, obviously our work will be paused.  One of my team will provide an update tomorrow of the situation.

Take care

Christine
