Project updates

Update by Sarah Jayne Parvin

Good afternoon, its been some time since my last post, and i just wanted to provide you with an update as the where we are with the project and what we have left to do.

All civil works have now been complete, we still have some fittings to be instanlled into the chambers (this wont require any footpath closures) followed by some pressure testing on the network. Once these activities have been done our work is then complete, and expect we should have left Rennys Lane by the end of September.

Any questions as always send them through the 'contact us' tab at the top of the page.

Thanks

Sarah

Update by Sarah Jayne Parvin

Good morning All, I spent  time onsite Friday afternoon with Steve in the glorious sunshine, and have an update to provide with the ongoing works.

  • We are currently working on chamber 3 (as pictured below), we are at the top level with our concrete pours, and need to complete first lining works, then lift on the top slab cover and carry out final reinstatements.
  • We are also in the progress for marking out chamber 2 to start works in this location mid week (WC 4th June 2018).
  • Pipetek (Sub-contractor)  are also currently robot cutting (trench-less excavation) from the school towards chamber 3 for the new pipe.

Its fair to say the works at chamber 3 has been slower than originally anticipated due to a number of factors such as the existing chamber and concrete base needed to be broken out, plus additional precautions are in place due to the live 500mm water main that runs along side our works, as well as a number of services in the ground which weren't on the plans, this has inevitably slowed things down slightly.

The most important thing to add all this work is carried out to the highest safety standards with the public and work force always front of mind.

We would like to thank you all for your patience!

Sarah

Update by Joan Tatters

Good Afternoon

By now you may have noticed some of our team & subcontractors around the Renny's Lane area in advance of the commencement of our project for Northumbrian Water.

Although I have introduced myself I havent informed you of who our Site Team are....

Jason Bradley (Contract Manager)

Stephen Coles (Site Manager)

Me, Joan Tatters (Customer Liaison Officer)

We have conducted a lot of ground investigation work in advance of our project and today we have addressed the above ground investigations. (as the weather has been a little kinder recently) With that in mind and with due care and lots of attention we have decided to prune back one or two of the trees along the footpath rather than remove them; this is to gain access to the manhole area with the plant machinery. So please if you are in the area, be a little more vigilant as your health and safety is paramount to us.

Don't forget if you want to ask us any questions feel free to blog me or just ask our Site Team we all are happy to help.

Take a look at our photos

Thank you

Good Morning to you,

My name is Joan Tatters and I am Mott MacDonald Bentley's (MMB) Customer Liaison Officer. MMB will be conducting the work on behalf of Northumbrian Water for this project and due course I will introduce the Site Team.

Mark and I had the pleasure of meeting some of you this week, we just want to let you know about some survey work we will be conducting later this month. For two weeks, w/c 26th Feb we will be cleaning the sewer pipe (see the drawing),

whilst there is minimal impact, you will see a vehicle (about the size of a fire engine) that will be pumping out the sludge. Just be that little more vigilant if you are in the area please.

Thank you for your time this week we appreciate it.

I will be posting information and progress on this scheme on a regular basis, so watch this space!
