River Gaunless, Bishop Auckland

We are investing up to £9 million to improve Butterknowle, Cockfield and Ramshaw sewage treatment works. Starting in December 2018 and likely to continue to December 2019. These works will improve the quality of the water in the River Gaunless and will not involve any disruption to the wastewater service in the area. Hello everyone

We are busy putting spoil back to cover our recent working areas. If weather is good to us we will grass seed this year. If not it will be late spring next year.

In the meantime can you please take care passing the 3 sewage works at Cockfield, Butterknowle and Ramshaw as we will have a small number of wagons coming in and out removing spoil at various times over the next few weeks.

As the weather has now turned we apologise in advance if any mud is spread in areas. We will do our best to keep on top of this.
