River Gaunless, Bishop Auckland

We are investing up to £9 million to improve Butterknowle, Cockfield and Ramshaw sewage treatment works. Starting in December 2018 and likely to continue to December 2019. These works will improve the quality of the water in the River Gaunless and will not involve any disruption to the wastewater service in the area. The wet weather is causing us big problems across the 3 sites. At Butterknowle, Ramshaw and Cockfield the civil work is complete however we are unable to finish the landscaping works inside and out until areas dry up. We are going to monitor the weather and return at a suitable date. This will include upgrading the access track at Butterknowle.

Electrical and commissioning is proving to be a bit of a challenge at present therefore we will still be around for the next few weeks.

Will keep you informed with progress and a completion date soon.
