Roseberry Crescent, Great Ayton Flood Alleviation

We are working with the community to explore opportunities to reduce the risk of flooding. The proposed works are located along Roseberry Crescent, Roseberry Road, Roseberry Avenue, Wheatlands and Newton Road, Great Ayton and within the site which forms part of the estate of Cleveland Lodge. The proposed works involve the installation of approximately 1300m of surface water and foul water sewer for the purpose of flood alleviation. Proposed works are also to involve the construction of a SuDS basin for surface water attenuation.

Update by Christine Taylor

Good afternoon,

Over the last few weeks my team have spoken to over 200 customers in the area, to advise and confirm that we are now in the area.  It was lovely to speak to you all, and I appreciate your understanding and patience whilst we carry out our works.

This week I have spoken to most of the residents of Farmgarth and delivered letters to advise that as of Monday, you will see our team start to work on the grassed area at the bottom of the cul-de-sac.   It is likely that the work will be the middle to the latter part of the week.  Access to the street will not be impacted at this time.  I will be in contact again, prior to the next stage of works when we cross into Roseberry Crescent.

The work will  involve removing the topsoil to create a hard standing area for storage throughout the scheme.

I am on site today to attend the progress meeting.  Our site team wanted to take this opportunity to introduce themselves, so I have included a short video in my update.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss our works in further detail.  Or even post questions on here for our project team to answer.

Have a great weekend.

Christine
