Roseberry Crescent, Great Ayton Flood Alleviation

We are working with the community to explore opportunities to reduce the risk of flooding. The proposed works are located along Roseberry Crescent, Roseberry Road, Roseberry Avenue, Wheatlands and Newton Road, Great Ayton and within the site which forms part of the estate of Cleveland Lodge. The proposed works involve the installation of approximately 1300m of surface water and foul water sewer for the purpose of flood alleviation. Proposed works are also to involve the construction of a SuDS basin for surface water attenuation.

Update by Steve Boyd (Project Manager)

Hi everyone,

Over this last couple of weeks we have continued with reinstatement/landscaping operations within Cleveland Lodge Grounds, carrying out topsoiling, cultivating, and fencing works, works have not gone exactly to plan as we have endured days of prolonged heavy rain, which has affected progress, works shall re commence in this area once the weather allows.

We have also continued on with the new drainage network installation on Roseberry Crescent, we are presently at the junction of Wheatland's installing both surface and foul water drainage and manholes, we have also extended our works area through towards the mini round about on Newton road where we now need to connect into the existing drainage network chamber, then work back towards the junction of Wheatland's upgrading the existing network foul drainage back to what we have previously installed at the junction of Wheatlands, this shall then tie the new network together prior to being able to turn the flows into the new drainage network, once again due to the inclement weather over the last few days, progress has been a little slower than expected, although we are still maintaining programme.

I take this opportunity once again to thank you for your patience as we carry out these essential works.

Hopefully the weather picks up for us all again soon, have a good weekend.

Steve.
