Roseberry Crescent, Great Ayton Flood Alleviation

We are working with the community to explore opportunities to reduce the risk of flooding. The proposed works are located along Roseberry Crescent, Roseberry Road, Roseberry Avenue, Wheatlands and Newton Road, Great Ayton and within the site which forms part of the estate of Cleveland Lodge. The proposed works involve the installation of approximately 1300m of surface water and foul water sewer for the purpose of flood alleviation. Proposed works are also to involve the construction of a SuDS basin for surface water attenuation.

Update by Christine Taylor

Good afternoon,

I thought I would drop in to give a quick update on our progess.  We have been working at the bottom of Wheatlands and have discovered some unchartered gas pipes, which has meant we need to go back to our design team.  This has set us back a few days, meaning we will be moving up the street on Wednesday 7 August.  All the residents who are impacted on our next section of rolling road closure, where their drives will be closed have been contacted by my customer team.

Roseberry Crescent is progressing well and we are planning to move into the middle of the junction of Roseberry Road, allowing traffic still to pass with priority signage in place.  I will be speaking to the customers north of our current closure in the next couple of weeks about the next stage.  Wednesday next week we will be tarmac reinstating the road, to allow some customer to reaccess their drives.

We would like thank all residents for their patience and understanding whilst we are in your area.  Our site team in particular would like to thank the residents who provided refreshments during the recent hot days, this act of kindness went along way. Thank you.

For all those who are off on their summer holidays, please enjoy and stay safe around our works.

Have a great weekend

Christine
