Roseberry Crescent, Great Ayton Flood Alleviation

We are working with the community to explore opportunities to reduce the risk of flooding. The proposed works are located along Roseberry Crescent, Roseberry Road, Roseberry Avenue, Wheatlands and Newton Road, Great Ayton and within the site which forms part of the estate of Cleveland Lodge. The proposed works involve the installation of approximately 1300m of surface water and foul water sewer for the purpose of flood alleviation. Proposed works are also to involve the construction of a SuDS basin for surface water attenuation.

I thought it would be beneficial to provide an update of our progress.

We have now been working on this section of Wheatlands for 2 weeks. During this section we need to close 2 short sections of the footpath to carry out connections to the new sewer, whilst the road is closed. We closed one section earlier this week which will be reopened for Friday night. To reduce impact to our customers the site team have opened a section of our road closure, to provide a cross over point.

Next week we will need to close the second section of footpath for a couple of days, we will provide an update to customers impacted by this section of work.

I will keep you updated of our progress over the next couple of weeks.
