Roseberry Crescent, Great Ayton Flood Alleviation

We are working with the community to explore opportunities to reduce the risk of flooding. The proposed works are located along Roseberry Crescent, Roseberry Road, Roseberry Avenue, Wheatlands and Newton Road, Great Ayton and within the site which forms part of the estate of Cleveland Lodge. The proposed works involve the installation of approximately 1300m of surface water and foul water sewer for the purpose of flood alleviation. Proposed works are also to involve the construction of a SuDS basin for surface water attenuation.

Project updates

Update by Christine Taylor

Good morning,

Just a quick update to keep everyone informed of our works on Roseberry Crescent.

As you will see we are working just north of Roseberry Academy.  We were expecting our works to be completed this week, however we have now notified all residents who are impacted that this section of work will take longer than anticipated due to the ground conditions.

This work is now expected to be completed by the 18th October 2019.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Good afternoon,

Following a call from one of our customers I have been on site today.

A customer on Roseberry Crescent has had red paint sprayed on their hedge which faces the pathway.  I have visited site and this has been carried out on a number of properties on the hedge and footpath.  One hedge has actually been cut at one section and the pieces left on the floor.

I have spoken to numerous customers and assured them this is not our site team or any of our staff.  The council have also been contacted the local authority (council) who have confirmed it was not them either.

We would ask residents to keep an eye out for any suspicious behaviour.  It is my understanding that this incident will be reported to the police by a customer.

I have included some photographs as agreed with customers for information.

Have a great weekend

Good afternoon,

You may have seen me on site today having a walk around our works.  It was lovely to catch up with some of the residents.

I am a little sad though that I have missed the cakes over the last couple of weeks, they looked delightful.

On another note we have good news for the residents currently impacted by the rolling road closure on Wheatlands.  Although we advised this section would take up to 5 weeks, at the end of next week we will start to tarmac the area we are currently working.  Then on the week commencing the 23 September we will be moving up to the other side of the junction of Roseberry Road.  The junction will remain open but access will move to the south of Wheatlands onto Roseberry.

We will keep you all updated over the next week.  Have a great weekend.

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

I don't know if last week's post about the delicious cakes has sparked a Great Ayton Bake Off, but you won't hear the lads on site complaining if it has!

Thank you again to our thoughtful neighbours for the cakes :-)

Good morning,

I hope you all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend and made the most of the gorgeous weather we had!

Following on from Christine's update last week I just wanted to confirm that you will see our site team progressing to the next stage of our road closure on Roseberry Crescent today.

As Christine explained on 16th August this will mean the diversion on Roseberry Avenue will now be in place for up to 5 weeks.

Once again we want to thank all residents for their patience and understanding whilst we carry out these works.

Thanks

Becky

Good morning,

Customers will have noticed that our works have not moved up Roseberry Crescent yesterday.  I have spoken to the residents who are impacted and they are aware that we will now be moving up the road next Tuesday/Wednesday.

This will mean the diversion on Roseberry Avenue will not be in place until next week.

Once again we want to thank all residents for their patience and understanding whilst we carry out these works.

Good morning,

Some of you may have seen myself and Tony Birkett on site yesterday delivering letters.  After speaking to some of our customers, we took the decision to letter drop the whole estate with regards to the next stage of our rolling road closure on Roseberry Crescent.

As of next Wednesday, 21 August 2019, we will be moving up Roseberry Crescent to the junction of Roseberry Avenue.  We have contacted all the residents where driveway access will be impacted however the junction will be closed.  Diversion signs will be in place.  The closure will be in place for upto 5 weeks, we then be moving along Roseberry Avenue.

As always when we are ready to move my team will be in contact with those customers directly impacted.

Have a great weekend, let's hope the sunshine returns :-)

Good afternoon,

I was on site this morning to look at the next stage of our closure on Roseberry Crescent.  The customers who will be impacted will be notified direct over the next 2 days.

Whilst on site the team took delivery of some cakes from a local resident.  The lads on site were feeling generous and let me have one :-)

Thank you so much for your continued understanding and generousity whilst we carry out our works.

A special thank you to the customer for the cake donation, from a very grateful Customer Service Manager :-)

See you all soon

Good morning,

Another update for the residents of Roseberry Crescent.

As of Monday12 August, we are moving further up the crescent towards the school.  We have contacted all residents that are impacted by this section of works.

Please be advised that the junction of Roseberry Road onto Roseberry Crescent will remain open with the use of priority signage.  On Monday the traffic will be diverted off Roseberry Road south towards Farmgarth/Newton Road, not North towards the school.

The school entrance will also remain open throughout our works.  We envisage this section of works will be completed within 5 weeks.

As always, if anyone has concerns please contact me direct to discuss further.

Have a great weekend.
