Rosehill Road, Willington Quay

Northumbrian Water is looking to improve the resilience and enhance the performance of the sewer network in the Willington catchment. We are proposing the construction of a new sewer overflow at the rear of Marina View, this work will be undertaken within the fenced off compound with site access taken from Rosehill Road. We will also be increasing the size of short sections of the existing sewer within Rosehill Road.

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

I was on site yesterday to see the team and listen to how we are doing. I'm happy to report that we are making good progress on Rosehill Road and its looking like we'll be finished in the not too distant future - more on that nearer the time.

Among other things, in the last month or so we've built the external walls and weir wall in the new Combined Sewer Overflow(CSO) that we are building and constructed parts of the cover slab. We've also built the electricity kiosk base, installed the kiosk and completed the electric connection and duct work. Additionally, we've spent a lot of time installing drainage around live and uncharted services in the ground.

We'll let you know when we plan to finish on site soon.

Regards

Tony
