Rothbury STW Project Team 

Good Morning

Just a quick note on progress since the last update. As previously mentioned both primary settlement tanks have passed their respective water test, with backfilling now completed to the point where the contractor can commence the formwork (concrete support) for the top level capping beam. The new sludge tank is installed and its currently undergoing a 7 day water test. When passed it will be benched and we aim to have the access platform in place before Christmas. The auto de-sludge pumping station is being constructed and weather permitting concrete works which again should be complete before Christmas. We remain on programme and we continue to prep the site for the Christmas break.

Hi I hope you are all well

MMB continue to make good progress with the upgrade of Rothbury STW and we completed a key milestone this week when the newly constructed primary tanks successfully passed thier water test. Elsewhere on the site MMB are preparing to receive the new power supply and installing the pipework for the primary settlement tanks pumping station. The installation of a second sludge holding tank is underway and will be water tested on the lead up to Christmas.

To maintain our sustainable approach to the work MMB have been griddling the arisings from the tank excavation, this selected material will be used as backfill around the new structures, you may have noted an increase in wagon movements disposing the resulting unusable material. As previously mentioned we are keeping our site community notice board up to date reporting progress with photos and a lookahead programme.

Good Afternoon,

I apologise it's been a bit quiet on here, however work has been progressing well on site. The construction of Primary Settlement Tanks 1 & 2 are almost complete. Over the next month, the PST's will be filled with water and tested. Once the tests have been carried out, we will commence with the back filling of both tanks. I have added some photos which shows the progress of PST 1 & 2.

If you have been for a walk along Wagtail Lane, you may have noticed our Site Community Board. This is updated on a regular basis with progress photos and our action plan for the upcoming weeks.

Hello,

It's been a few weeks since my last update, so I thought I would come on here and let you know how work is progressing on site.

The hoppers (where sludge is stored, the separated liquid then goes off to be treated) have been concreted which will enable us to steel fix and concrete the two Primary Settlement Tank bases next week. Once this section of work is complete, the site team will then progress with the wall infill work.

Please be aware that there will be deliveries coming to and from site over the upcoming weeks, so as always, please take extra care when you are visiting Wagtail Lane/Road.

Good Afternoon,

I hope everyone has been enjoying the sunshine over the last couple of days. 

Since my last update, the site team have been busy with the installation of the Primary Settlement Tanks (PST) 1 & 2. You can see in the photos below how they look now that the wall units are standing tall. The pipework from the PSTs to the Pumping Station, Distrubution Chamber and Draw Pit are also almost complete. 

Over the next couple of weeks both Primary Settlement Tanks steel work will be installed and the concrete will be poured internally.

Good Afternoon All,

Just a quick update on how our work is progressing on site.

If you were in the area over the last couple of weeks, you may have noticed large wall units on the back of a lorry being delivered to site. The site team have been busy over the last week and have now started to construct both Primary Settlement Tanks (PST), and the wall units are now standing in the ground. The installation of the Primary Settlement Tanks are now half-way there, and we aim to have the remainder of the wall units up by the end of next week. I have added some photo's below for you to take a look at.

Our next deliveries are scheduled for Wednesday 1st September and Thursday 2nd September. If you are enjoying the fresh air and going for a walk down Wagtail Lane and Wagtail Road during this time, we kindly ask you stay vigilent while our delivery wagons come to and from site.

I thought I would pop on following Ian's last update, with some more information on the expected deliveries due to site over the next few weeks.

Our first set of deliveries are expected on Thursday 19th August and Friday 20th August, and could be in the area for approximatley five working days. The next deliveries are then scheduled for Thursday 2nd September and Friday 3rd September.

We kindly ask over these dates, that access is not restricted by parked vehicles and would like to politley remind you to take extra care if you are visiting Wagtail Road/Mill Lane during this time.

I hope you are all well, apologies its been a while sine the last update.

Mott Macdonald Bentley continue to make good progress onsite making the best of the recent good weather. Last week the contractor completed the excavation and breaking out rock for Primary settlement tanks (PST’s) 1 & 2 setting the precast sump rings in place and commencing the installation of the sludge removal pipework in preparation for a mass  concrete pour.

Looking ahead this week we hope to undertake the mass fill concrete pour in around rings/pipework bringing up to PST formation level. The first of the PST precast tank units are expected to be delivered next week, once these deliveries get underway you will notice increased traffic on Mill Lane. We will continue to monitor the condition of Mill lane and the verges during the period of these deliveries.
