GENERAL PROJECT

Sunderland Bridge STW Transfer Works

We are investing £2.5 million to ensure the sewer network continues to serve the community effectively in the future; reducing the risk of flooding and pollution in the Sunderland Bridge and Croxdale area. Our partners, ESH Stantec will be undertaking the work on our behalf beginning on 27 September 2021 and will last until 26 April 2022.

Update by Becky Gartland

Good afternoon,

Just to provide you all with a quick update on how our works have been going this week.

The site team are progressing well with the excavtion works within the carriageway on the A167 in order to install the rising main pipework.

Pumping Station shaft excavations are ongoing and will continue over the course of the coming weeks as we continue to pump out groundwater.

The reinforced steel base for the pumping station is currently being constructed ready to lower into the excavation next week followed by a concrete pour to secure and create the floor.

If you have any queries regarding our works, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Thank you

Becky
