Update by Christine Taylor

Good morning,

I have been notified from site, that traffic is building up through our works. There has been an incident on the A1, so traffic is diverting through Sunderland Bridge, Croxdale.  I have checked the traffic news, and they have advised that normal traffic conditions should resume at 12.30 today.

Thank you for your patience, we will endeavour to keep our customers updated.

Good morning all,

It's been a little while since I last provided you with an update regarding the progress of our works on site so I wanted to pop on and get you all up to speed.

Over the past couple of weeks there have been a number of operations that have taken place within the carriageway of the A167.

  • Installation of Pipework within the carriageway opposite Rogerson Terrace
  • Installation of a temporary Bridle Path leading to Sunderland Bridge
  • Excavation and pipework installed within a section of the A167 at the junction with Hett Lane

The two-way traffic lights at the junction of Hett Lane have now been removed in preparation for our site partially closing from Friday 17 December for the Christmas and New Year period.

Work will recommence from Tuesday 4 January 2022 where traffic management will be set up further along the A167 to allow us to progress with the installation of the pipework within the carriageway. There will be traffic managament in operation within different locations of the A167 until the end of March 2022. Traffic light timings will continue to be monitored throughout as well as our site team working weekends to minimise the impact to local residents where possible.

As always if you have any queries regarding our work, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you

Becky

Good morning,

I thought I would just pop on here to say thank you to both Jeff and Adam, at Croxdale Community Centre, for spending time with me last Thursday.  They shared the wonderful work both them, and the committee memebers are contributing to the Croxdale community.

They are very excited about the 'History Day' they are hosting on the 27 November 2021, which sounds like an amazing event.  They have asked me to share this information and extend the invite, as they will welcome anyone who would be interested in local history.

We will endeavour to keep you updated with both our works, and events that your community centre are organising whilst we are working iwithin your community.

Take care

Christine

Good afternoon,

Some of you may have already seen that we have had to extend the traffic management this morning from Front Street down onto the A167 northbound carriageway, This is to enable the site team to continue works on the rising main. We anticipate this section of work to take 3 weeks to complete. There is a contraflow system in operation on the A167 to maintain traffic flow and the bus stops all remain operational in their usual locations.

We have also been instructed by Durham County Council to carry out our works across 7 days a week with immediate effect. This will continue until further notice.

If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Thank you

Becky

Good morning,

It would seem Autumn is definitely upon us.

I visited site on Friday and met with the site team, who were very busy.  As you will be able to see the compound and office is now in place.  This includes parking for the site team which reduces parking issues in the area.

Since Monday 27 September the team have been digging a trench along the B6288 to take the new rising main.  We would hope to be off the road by this Friday, 22 October 2021.

Our next stage of works will be the installation of pipework behind the compound up to Wood View.  We would hope to start this work on Monday 25 October 2021, my team will keep you updated.

As of today we have traffic lights on the Old Sunderland Bridge, south of the river.  These will be in place for approximately 4 weeks.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want to discuss the scheme further.
