GENERAL PROJECT

Sunderland Bridge STW Transfer Works

We are investing £2.5 million to ensure the sewer network continues to serve the community effectively in the future; reducing the risk of flooding and pollution in the Sunderland Bridge and Croxdale area. Our partners, ESH Stantec will be undertaking the work on our behalf beginning on 27 September 2021 and will last until 26 April 2022.

FAQs

What will the working hours be?

8.00am to 5.00pm.

Will my water supply be affected?

No.

Will the work cause disruption?

With most construction work it is inevitable that there will be some disruption in the immediate vicinity of the work. There will also be an increase in heavy traffic in the area, with vehicles transporting materials to and from the working sites and site compounds. Traffic management will be required on the A167 and Front Street Croxdale in order to adequately segregate the working areas from the live carriageways although disruption will be minimised as far as possible.

Will access to my property be maintained?

Yes.

How will residents be kept updated?

Via the portal and written communication.

Will the site be dangerous?

No. All work areas will be securely fenced off.

What will it look like when the works are complete?

Will there be dust, vibration and noise?

Yes. Vibration will be kept to limits that prevent any damage to any properties.

Will the roads be kept clean during the works?

Yes.

What happens on bin collection days if the bin wagon can not get to my property?

The site team will make sure your bins are carried to the bin wagon for you.
