Hello. I would like to give you a quick update on the finishing works we are carrying out at the Dalton Ground Water Pumping Station.

The project is substantially complete and water is going into supply.

This station is located in Cold Hesledon in County Durham and is one of a number of similar stations in the Sunderland and East Durham Area.

All of the works are inside the main building and we will not disturb our neighbours.

The testing and commissioning works are complete.

Hello. I want to share some good news regarding this project. Interserve has completed all operations on all the sites that were started in 2019 and 2020. All of these stations are in operation and are supplying water to the network. Well done to the site team for the good work they did on all of the Sunderland ground water scheme sites. All of the sites have been handed over to Northumbrian Water.

Good Morning

We have now completed a major part of this project. Fulwell Ground Water Station will become operational today. This is an important stage in our £10.6 million investment to improve water quality and resilience for our customers in Sunderland and the surrounding areas.

Some customers may notice a slight change to their water when the source of their supply is switched back to being supplied from our Fulwell site. This is perfectly normal as the raw water we treat and supply comes from different sources – like rivers, reservoirs and groundwater stations – and it often smells and tastes different. The water from all our sites complies with the strict regulations expected of us and we pride ourselves on providing clear, great tasting water.

Good morning

We are back at Fulwell Pumping station today restarting work from last year. We will be setting up site cabins this week and starting work on the station by next week. There will be an increase in vehicle traffic as deliveries arrive but we do not see this causing a traffic issue. The water supply will be maintained during these works which we expect to last to the end of May 2020.

Hello everyone

Due to technical issues a decision has been made to postpone work at Fulwell Ground Water Station until the new year.

Consequently we will be demobalising from site and leaving Fulwell this week, we will be in touch next year when we have a new date for work.

Hello everyone

We are all clear of Thorpe and Dalton sites now and well established at Fulwell. We are using batteries at Fulwell to run all our equipent on outside working hours so we can turn the generators off and lower the levels of noise pollution at night time. We will keep you updated on our progress as we go

Hello everyone

We have just about finished work now at Thorpe with just a few minor items to sort out inside the building. We will shortly be removing our cabins from the site and returning everything to normal. We will be relocating then to Fulwell Ground Water Station to commence work later this week. These works will last until around the end of November. The project involves installing new filters and pipework along with amendments to the pumping arrangements to provide improvements to water quality and the environment. You may  notice an increase in traffic but we will try to keep disruption to a minimum. Our hours of work at 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and if we work outside these hours we will inform you in advance. Water supply will be unaffected.

Best regards

Brian
