Update by Mark Robinson

Evening everyone.

Thank you Graeme for the introduction.

There has been a lot of planning for this project and we are currently working away in the background, producing the detailed design for the new pipeline and connections. In order to complete the design and in advance of the main works starting in October, we need to carry out a number of excavations within the road to locate and confirm positions of existing pipes and cables. These trial holes will enable our design team to establish a route for the new pipe, through Deptford Terrace, Hanover Place and Farringdon Row.

Works are planned to start along Farringdon Row on Monday 10th September, just outside Timber Supplies and the Kings Arms pub. A small road closure will be set in place, moving along Farringdon Row as works progress. Thereafter, we will move through sections of both Deptford Terrace and Hanover Place. A diversion will be in place for road users and access to all properties maintained. Wherever possible, we will leave the footpaths open either side of the road to allow pedestrian access.

The first traffic management diversion will be uploaded with this post and as works progress, we'll continue to share all diversion plans. In addition, myself or colleagues will provide progress updates and photos regularly.

Thank you in advance for your patience. More from me soon, Mark Robinson (Esh-MWH Project Manager)
