Sunderland Strategic Transport Corridor (Phase 3)

Northumbrian Water is planning to carry out water and waste-water diversions and modifications of our network in advance of the Sunderland Strategic Transport Corridor Phase 3. The new dual carriageway which is planned to start in the Summer of 2019, will link the new south side road infrastructure of the Northern Spire bridge to A183 St Mary's Boulevard - A1231 St Michael's Way roundabout. Our supply partners, Esh-MWH will be undertaking this works on our behalf.

Update by Mark Robinson

Good Morning,

I visited site this morning and our team have commenced works to the final trial holes along Farringdon Row. We've moved North of the B & Q delivery entrance now, allowing access to both here and the retail paIk. Anyone wishing to access the Kings Arms pub or Timber Supplies needs to do so via Beach St.

We started with saw cutting and breaking up of the tarmac this morning and will progress with hand digging for the next few days to see what lies beneath.

I'll be in touch over the next couple of days with traffic updates for the next work area, along Deptford Terrace.

Mark
