Northumbrian Water is planning to carry out water and waste-water diversions and modifications of our network in advance of the Sunderland Strategic Transport Corridor Phase 3. The new dual carriageway which is planned to start in the Summer of 2019, will link the new south side road infrastructure of the Northern Spire bridge to A183 St Mary's Boulevard - A1231 St Michael's Way roundabout. Our supply partners, Esh-MWH will be undertaking this works on our behalf.
To support Sunderland City Council in its strategic improvements to the road network within your area, we are planning to divert and modify sections of Northumbrian Water’s network in the Deptford and Ayres Quay districts. This work will assist in the proposed construction of a dual carriageway, currently programmed to start in Summer 2019. Part 1 of our work will start in October 2018, working alongside Sunderland City Council and Capita, to ensure disruption is minimised during the main construction of the dual carriageway.
