Tyneside Water Main Cleaning

Our water mains cleaning programme of works has been ongoing now for five years and to date, we have achieved 221km of cleaning works to our mains. There are a number of pipe sections that we still need to clean, with a total length of 9.0km. We are starting this work in August 2018 and anticipate completion in the Apri 2021.

Good Morning

Just a brief update to our works at Miller Close Killngworth as follows:-

We are ongoing with testing and cleaning the newly installed pipework ready for a sample to be taken.
Sunday 23rd June 2019 at 9am we have a planned shutdown of the main that feeds Benton Square Industrial Estate, this will mean a loss of supply for 2hrs 45 minutes maximum whilst we connect onto the existing pipework, please note that this supply will only affect the industrial estate and will have no impact to domestic customers in the area hence the reason we have chosen to do this work on a sunday morning with less inconvenience.
Next week we plan to complete the reinstatements to the area with the intention of being complete on site by Friday 28th June 2019.

As the works proceed i will update you accordingly.
