Tyneside Water Main Cleaning

Our water mains cleaning programme of works has been ongoing now for five years and to date, we have achieved 221km of cleaning works to our mains. There are a number of pipe sections that we still need to clean, with a total length of 9.0km. We are starting this work in August 2018 and anticipate completion in the Summer 2019.

Update by Joan Tatters

Good Morning and Happy New Year,

Following on from my last post I thought I would just reconfirm where we are within the programme....

The team have successfully completed the cleaning works and are currently working to reinstate the footpaths and backfill the excavations on site along Denton Road. Once completed we will be back to complete the seasonal reinstating with seeding etc and getting it back to normal for you to use at your leisure and this will be around February time.

We have now also moved to work within Benwell Reservoir where will be abandoning an old water pipe that formed part of the main network within Newcastle. We anticipate working there the remainder of this month if you live on that stretch of road please be a little more vigilant as we will be in and out of the site regularly.

Don't forget if you want to ask any questions please feel free.
