Project updates

Update by Joan Tatters

Good Afternoon

I popped in to the residents of Errington Terrace along Great Lime Road this morning to let them know about the traffic management we currently have in place.

Just to confirm we are nearly at the end and this is just about the last leg of the work. The traffic lights are planned to be on until Wednesday 30th, however the site team are confident they will  complete the work before then.

Don't worry as well our work will not disrupt your water supply.

Again, thank you for your continued patience during this time.

Good Afternoon

Just a brief update for the planned works on Claremont Road between the junctions of Claremont Place and Claremont Road.

This work will be carried out from:

10.00pm on Tuesday 22 October until 6.00am on Wednesday 23 October 2019

We will be using the new, innovative cleaning method of ice pigging for this section of work during the night to make sure any disruption is kept to a minimum. During this work, there may be a low level of engine noise from the ice pigging equipment and flashing beacon lights for highway safety.

Even though we may be working some distance away, there is a possibility that you may receive discoloured water or notice a change in water pressure during the above time. If your supply is discoloured, please run your first draw cold water tap (the tap closest to your internal stop valve) for 30 to 40 minutes or until your supply runs clear. Water-using appliances should only be used if your supply is running clear.

In order to carry out the innovative cleaning of the water mains by "ice pigging" there will be temporary 4-way traffic lights on Claremont Road from 7:00pm on Tuesday 22 October until 6:00am on Wednesday 23 October 2019.

The process will be complete overnight and TM removed when the works are complete, normal service will be restored by 6am the following morning.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in advance and if you require any further information please don’t hesitate to comment below, alternatively use the ‘contact us’ at the top of the page for an email to be send to the project team.

Thanks

Good Morning,

From Joans previous update, I thought I'd take the opportunity to introduce myself. I'm Gaby, and I'm going to be leading on the Stowell Street site of the project with Michael and the team. Some of you may have met me already as I have visited some of the sites on this programme. On Monday, Michael and I visited Stowell Street to drop off some letters along St Andrews Street regarding the work we are going to be carrying out on the 7th October. For those of you I didn't speak with, to view the letter please click here.

From Monday 7th October, we will be carrying out work on the corner of Gallowgate and Stowell Street (outside Chicken Cottage) for upto 2 weeks. A diversion is going to be put into place, which I have attached a copy of the planned route for those of you travelling in the area. Click here to view.

Good Morning All,

Just an update on MMB's work in the area.

Last weeks work along Park Terrace went well and as a result all being well the innovative "Ice Pigging" will take place along Claremont Road in October, don't worry it will be conducted overnight.

Work along Denton Road continues and whilst it continually challenges us, our immediate work will continue within the compound.  We will have some minor works in November along Aldwick Road but only for a day or two.

Next week the team will also be working in Stowell Street and there will be a diversion in place for around two weeks.

Phewww!

Don't forget if you want to ask us anything about the work please don't hesitate to contact us.

2. Yesterday we installed the line stop to the water main opposite the wheatsheaf pub allowing us to cut and cap the local water supply from the abandoned Trunk main this afternoon, we are now targetting to be reinstated complete in this area as of Monday 19th July 2019.

Our next planned work location is on the 29th of July 2019, this is outside of Woodlands Grange adjacent Great Lime Road to disconnect the local supply from the abandoned Trunk main.
