EEL PROTECTION SCHEME

Eels Regulations (2009) Compliance Project

We will be and are currently upgrading the following works to install new screens that are compliant with the Eels Regs 2009. Lumley WTW - (Works here are now complete), Blackwell RWPS - (Works here are now complete), Warkworth WTW - (we are also installing new pumps at the river water intake) , and Broken Scar WTW. The new screens will also improve the resilience of the works and protect the water supplies for our customers for many years to come

Good Morning,

It's been a while since we last updated you regarding the Eel Regs to here goes........

Today is the start of our work down by the inlet works at Warkworth, you will have noticed the team have been preparing for the work by cutting back the trees and organising the area for the compound set up.

We have been working with the residents and the Anglers' Club so as to minimise our impact. For those of you who love to walk in th area please be that little more vigilant as whilst we are setting up the compound there will extra vehicle activity in the first instance.

I thought I would introduce the team

Andy Shield            -           MMB Contract Manager, who will be over seeing the contract throughout from a Mott MacDonald Bentley perspective.

Joan Tatters           -           MMB Customer Liaison Officer, I will be blogging and keeping you up to date with what's happening

Brian Ford              -           NWG Project Manager, who will take the lead on the project

Peter Routledge     -           MMB Site Manager, he will be looking after the day to day operations of the project
