Good Afternoon,

Following on from my previous update, it's that time for us to return and the good news is it will be a short visit.

Next week Peter and a couple of his team will be taking delivery of two welfare vans and on 29th will be bringing in a crane. It will be just for the one day so as to refit one of the pumps that needed to be modified; it has now been checked and we can now install it. The reason to do it now is because this is the earliest opportunity and its essential to give the works more resilience especially in these uncertain times.

We will of course follow UK Government guidance regarding COVID-19 as it stands currently, and ask should you wish to use the area for your allocated daily exercise you are more vigilant during this time and to be aware of the pedestrian accesses.

We are committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of our employees and our customers and the site teams are adhering to the social distancing guidance and we ask that during this difficult time that you also maintain a social distance from our staff once the work gets underway.

Morning All,

Just a further update on Warkworth and the last for a little while.

We will be demobilising the cabins at the site over the next few days as our work is about complete although we will return for a couple of days at the end of this month and then again in the Spring.

I would just like to thank the residents and the Angling club for their continued support and understanding during the work, we really appreciate it.

Peter and the team have liaised and worked closely with the locals and their reaction has been so positive as they had expected more of a disruption.

We are about to start a scheme near Maften (Pont Aqueduct), for the best part of the next couple of weeks, we will be carrying out enabling works, in particular improving the access road into the site. There are some large pot holes creating a lot of standing water which is also used by the public and horses. Extra care will be taken especially if anybody is passing through while work is being undertaken. Work will stop until pedestrians pass and commence again when it is safe to do so.

The main work involves building a fish pass in situ and is away from the public so at times it might seem there is cabins on site and no work been carried out, but the site is located 800m from the public track. A close watch on the weather will play a large part to this scheme as it will be tricky balancing what work is capable of been carried out due to restrictions.

Good Afternoon,

Just spoken to Peter and he is very happy..............

He and the team have had a couple of busy weeks, both new screens are now installed and all working just fine. The newly installed pumps (3) are in test mode and whilst that is happening the team are just putting in place on site for the future maintenance plan.

Divers will be back on site soon, so I hope to get a photo or two, so watch this space.

I just wanted you to be aware of where we are with the works........

We have been conducting some tests and trialling a new pump in advance of the installation of another new screen. There will be a crane arriving 16th September, however prior to that on the Saturday prior, (14th) we will need to prepare for it's arrival along with all the other subsidary works. The crane will be of a considerable size, actually 95T as the screens are huge. (as per my previous photos)

To reduce any impact on that Saturday we will work a reduced working day between 8am until 4pm.

Here is our update..........

Peter and his team are progressing well and they have commissioned the first screen for use. They have also installed some outer trash screens to protect the Eel screen for years to come.

This week they will be runing the first new pump and screen over a period of time (probably for the week) to trial everything.

Just to keep you informed of what's happening.............

The new screen was installed and all went to plan as well as the kiosk that is now ready for the pipework to be connected and installed . Thank goodness before the change of the weather which would have impacted operations.

Next week we are expecting a crane on site (Tuesday 18th) just for the day to install the first pump holder.

As promised, here are some photos.

Last week the team took out the first of one of the old pumps and screen along with all associated pipework and metalwork. Have alook at one of our divers in action after removal of the screen.

This week we will be working on temporary work to enable us to install the new screen and pump while keeping the remaining old screen and pumps working 24hrs.

Just a quick up date of how things are going..........

Next week we will be starting the "real" work, we are expecting a crane delivery on Monday and Tuesday which will start taking out the exisiting equipment. It will remove one pump and one screen along with all the other associated equipment, therefore the crane will be of a reasonable size. Please be that little more vigilant if you are in the area.

Just a quick up date before the Easter holidays.......

Peter and his team are currently setting up the site compound up at the Treatment works, this will hopefully lessen our impact around the in let works. In time as the project progresses we will have a presence by the works at the river however we will always try to keep it to a minimum.

The project team recently met with the Angling Club and the landowner who all mutually decided to create a designated car parking for the anglers. So Peter and his team are cracking on with this at the moment.
