Project updates

Update by Christine Taylor

Hi everyone,

Some of our customers will of received letters advising that we have left the area, however will be returning to carry out some minor works.  Within the letter was a questionnaire asking how we did.

We thought we would post the questionnaire on here to allow others to complete it and feedback.

For every questionnaire completed and returned to us, we'll donate £1 to WaterAid.

Hi Everyone

As we said before Christmas, we need to return to site for one last visit to complete some resurfacing work in Hunter Road and Doxford Drive. This is scheduled for Tuesday 23 January 2018. The work will result in a single lane closure at both locations, but we expect to finish the same day. I was out and about yesterday, talking to the businesses most affected.

Once this is complete, we will be finished!

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we have completed this work

Regards

Tony

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

I've been Wapping Burn today and met with Darren, so we'd like to provide an update about progress. As you can see, things are within touching distance of finishing. The compound is being gradually removed and will be off site by the end of next week.

On Wednesday 20 December 2017 we have booked a contractor to permanently reinstate the roads in the entrance to the access to Icarus and in Hunter Road in the junction with Swan Road. This will leave a small amount of reinstatements to be completed in January. The work on Wednesday will be managed by three way traffic lights but we don't expect significant impact on traffc, the Traffic Management contractor will be on site and will manage any traffic build up if there is any.

Hope you all have a great Christmas

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

Work is very much winding down at Wapping Burn. We have now successfully completed the pressure test mentioned previously and we are filling in the hole in the road between Swan Road and Hunter Road. Once we've finished that, we will finish building the chamber at the end of Hunter Road.

We are also carrying out pressure testing along Whitehouse Way.

Once these final tasks are complete we will permanently reinstate the road and move off site -The finish line is very much in sight!

Enjoy your weekend

Hi Everyone

This week, we have finally connected the pipes together along the verge of Whitehouse Way! We will be pressure testing these pipes in the coming days.

We have also been continuing our investigations around the Hunter Road and Swan Road area. We will hope to have this resolved soon and will hopefully permanently reinstate this area next week. We will be in touch with those impacted nearer the time.

The end is close!

Hi Everyone

We are getting very close to finishing at Wapping Burn! This week we are continuing to work towards joining the two ends of pipe together. Once they meet we'll backfill and then start testing. All being well we should be testing, reinstating and removing the compound from site next week. I'll keep you informed of our progress when we start to pull off site.

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi everyone

This week the Northern Team have finished installing pipework across the road leading to Icarus and Premier Tech Aqua. It is currently being temporarily reinstated and will be re-opened on Monday. They will then continue installing pipes down the verge towards the Southern Team.

The Southern Team have been completing our work on the junction of Hunter Road and Swan Road. This is now resolved and we are currently re-filling at present ready to test on Monday. Following a successful test we will reinstate the road on the junction and then complete the works at the southern end of the scheme.

On Tuesday 14th our surfacing subcontractor along with our traffic management subcontractor will be on site to carry out the permanent reinstatement of the junctions. This will mean that we will need to use Traffic Management around site that day work progresses. The traffic lights will be manned to ensure traffic build up is kept to a minimum so hopefully this work will not cause you any significant delays.

The end is in our sights now!

Tony
