Good Afternoon Everyone,
I'm back from holiday now, so here is a brief up date:
Our work is steadily progressing and we are experiencing some challenging issues with the ground conditions. The rock strength within the shaft has exceeded our expectations and our experts believe the rock is almost three times the strength of concrete. "wow"
We will need to continue to blast the rock from the shaft and I can assure you it's proving to be a tough task, the site team will keep you informed of the timings.
On an environmental issue we will continue to use the removed rock to help to build and maintain the sea wall and use it for local repairs to the road in the area. By doing this we will minimise vehicle movement as we are almost keeping it in house here at Waren Mill.
In my absence there has been a lot of interest in the site by visitors and holiday makers, Andy and his team welcomed a family from Lewis and their 7 little boy was overwhelmed by the size of the digger plus two ex mechanical engineers who in their words were "nosey" and wanted to see extactly what was going on. Great stuff lads!
I will be visiting the site every Wednesday morning between 9 and 12.30 so come along and have a chat, I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have about the project.
It's good to be back, so keep logging on for updates..........oh, the new site notice board will also advertise the updates if you are out and about in the village
