GENERAL PROJECT

Washington Sewage Treatment Works Refurbishment

As part of a £14 million investment, we will be carrying out work to improve the performance and reliability of Washington Sewage Treatment Works. This work will ensure it continues to provide the highest standards of service for the local community.

Update by Sarah Jayne Parvin

Good afternoon, we want to make you aware we may be working a little later than usual today.

We are pouring the first floor of the 3 settlement tanks, placing 170m3 concrete to form the base. We have another 2 of these to do over the next 6 weeks—the dates for pour 2 and 3 to be confirmed nearer the time.

We expect the shift to run into the night as the concrete needs to set to a point where it can be walked on and power floated to give a smooth finish. Some low-level lighting equipment on-site provides safe access/egress to the works area and some noise when the power float is in use throughout the shift.

If you have any questions, please comment below or use the ‘contact us’ option above to speak to one of the team.

We want to thank you for your patience during this time.

Thanks

Sarah
