Update by Ian Davison
Hello Everyone
I am Ian Davison Northumbrian Waters Project Manager and I will be looking after this scheme through to it’s completion.
Northumbrian Water are committed to providing high quality service to our customers and have commenced a study of the sewer network in Whitton to ensure that it continues to serve your community effectively, improving the environment that we want to protect.
As the project develops I will keep you informed about our investigations and the work we are considering by sharing our proposals with you. I am very interested to understand your views about these proposals and how we can minimise any disruption you and your community may experience once work is underway.
The team will post regular updates throughout the project and if you have any queries or want to make us aware of any additional assistance you require from us then please use the ‘Contact us’ button at the top of this page or post on this feed.
If you prefer a telephone conversation or require any further information or advice please contact our Customer Centre on 0345 717 1100 or visit www.nwl.co.uk to request a call back from the project team.
You may have already noted surveying teams in the village and fields gathering topographical data. In the coming weeks you may see a gang onsite for a day or two undertaking hand / machine dug trial holes in the field between Whitton and Rothbury. This is a geotechnical investigation which will allow the engineering team to assess the soil conditions within which the sewer installation work may be undertaken. Care will be taken to ensure minimal disturbance and upon completion the land will be reinstated back to the original condition.
