Wooler Water Treatment Works

Following on from Joan's recent post...............

I thought to update you about the new Water Treatment Works we are constructing in the grassland opposite Berwick Road Industrial Estate.

As part of our ongoing investment programme and to ensure the highest level of customer service, we are investing over £10 million on the new facility to help safeguard water supplies in the area into the future. The facility will comprise of a a whole new building, fitted out with cutting-edge technology to allow for more engergy efficient processes to treat and clean water.

You may have notice that we have recently commenced with our construction at the site, working in partnership withh our trusted framework partners Mott Macdonald Bentley. The construction work at the site will take up to 12 months and we are aiming to complete the work by Summer 2021.

We are following government guildelines, to keep our teams, customers and communities safe during our work. If you want to as us a question or simply say hello, please kepp to a safe two metere distance

Although your water supply will not be affected by the works, you may see an increase in vehicular activity to and from site.

We will be providing regular update on the progress of the work via the community portal.
