Project updates

Update by Joan Tatters

Hello again....

Gary's first update:-

Upto the junction of Myers Av/Perves Pl the team have reinstated most of the road so providing access to the residents near to Arkley Cres. We will be looking to proceed past Perves Pl and reinstate more of the road to enable to offer better access to Myers. The traffic management is currently closing the Myers Av/Perves Place junction and will be moving towards Waller Court next week so please be more vigilant if you are in the area.

The building of the storage tank is progressing really well, the pour of concrete to create the roof will take place next week along side the starting the drainage pipeline from the tank towards Arkley.

Thank you all once again for your patience and understanding during our work.

Here are a few photos and please feel free to ask me or the site team any questions about the project.

Good Morning All,

Happy New Year.

As you will have noticed we have commenced the work along Miers Ave and I would like to thank those residents for their co-operation during the work we will be moving as soon as possible. I noticed the site team are doing their utmost to minimise the disruption by just closing one side of the road so at least there is access.

Don't forget if you want to ask me any questions about the project please drop me a line or just any of the team we are happy to help.

Thanks

Good Morning Everyone,

Just a quick note.....

Thank you to Vera and Malcolm for the card and the beautiful ginger cake (which lasted about 20mins), as well as Maureen and John for the xmas card and biscuits which were also demolished.

A quick update now!

We've carried out the permanent resurfacing of West View Road and Arkley Crescent we hope you agree it's in better condition than ever. Next year we will be upsizing drainage through Miers Av and Bruce Crescent and connecting the tank to the network, so still a bit to do.

A huge thank you to you all, for your patience and understanding whilst we carry out this work not to mention your kindness.....the goodies throughout the year have gone down a treat.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for 2018 from us all.

Good Morning All,

Just a quick update this morning..........

Constructing the tank is a very meticulous task, the team have been tirelessly been working as the structure has to be spot on. The guys have made great progress and the base slabs are now complete. The internal walls are just about there as well.

The upsizing of the pipes along Arkely Crescent and West View Road is also on track and are expected to be complete this side of Christmas. "Whoo hoo".

Have a look at Colin's photos.........they are just great.

Thank you to all the residents during the work, we know our work has been disruptive and we appreciate your cooperation.

Good Morning,

We've been progressing nicely with the tank excavation and I'm sure you've all noticed the addition of a decent sized crane to the skyline. I've attached some progress photos from the past fortnight which will hopefully display just how far we've came. Worthy of note, is that we now have full time security in attendance for the duration of the crane's stay. The security presence is predominantly for safety and wellbeing as any intrusion could lead to serious injury.

We are commencing the final leg of drainage on Arkley Crescent toward Winterbottom Avenue and all being well, we should be looking at carrying out permanent reinstatement at the beginning of December. As always, please direct any queries or issues to me at Colin.Butler@mm-b.co.uk or pop in for a chat. Myself and the rest of my team will be happy to discuss.

Thanks

Colin.

Good Afternoon Everyone. I just thought I'd take this opportunity to share progress photos from our Flood Alleviation works at Arkley Crescent/King George V Field, Hartlepool. Alongside our live upsizing of the drainage network in the estate, we have installed a 29m x 30m sheeted cofferdam in which to build a 1100m3 Precast Concrete storage tank and despite encountering localised peat deposits at formation, prompting a deviation in design and significant slowing down, we are now well on our way to delivering another excellent project for our client NWG. Again, I'd like to thank you all for your continued patience and remind you of the dangers of any unathorised access to this working area. Please pay attention to signage and locked fencing and communicate this to your children. As always, feel free to pop in at any time or contact me on colin.butler@mm-b.co.uk with any questions or issues.

Thanks

Good Morning,

Following on from my door knock on Thursday, I thought I would just reconfirm the road closures.

We are progressing really well with the job and from this afternoon we will be moving the pipe laying further along Arkley Crescent. This means the new road closure will include Arkley Crescent along Miers Avenue and will end at Garside Drive, it will last for approximately 4-5wks. So if you own a car or if your visitors own a car we respectively request parking at an alternative area during this period. For those of you who have appointments just speak to our team they will make sure you have access. I know it's disruptive however, we will do all we can to complete the work as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance of this, your patience with us has been just fantastic.

You all know by now our site is a live construction area and health and safety is paramount; sadly we have recently experienced some trespassing at the back of Arkley Cres just where we are installing the new water tank. We strongly discourage any public access of any kind without the correct supervision....the bottom line is we don't want anyone to get hurt!!

Your co-operation is really appreciated, thanks again for your continuing support.

Joan

Good Morning,

Our sheeted excavation has been safely shored and as of today, all of the sheet piles will be in the ground (you'll notice a drop in the noise levels from King George V  field) we will be looking to commence excavation on Monday 18th September and expect to shift somewhere in the region of 800 tonnes of material per day. To put this into better perspective that should be forty wagons per day accessing and exiting King George field via Arkley Crescent and Miers Avenue, we hope that this will breakdown to 5 wagons per hour across the shift. (fingers crossed)

Because of the increased volume of traffic movement in this area we ask that you remain aware of the ongoing works around you and make any required access to the playing fields from West View Road for the duration of these works. My guys are always on hand to answer questions and as always I am available either onsite or at Colin.Butler@mm-b.co.uk should you need to direct anything at me or fancy a chat. Once again, thank you for your continued patience whilst we carry out these critical works.

I'd like to also take this opportunity to thank the lovely residents who baked us all a delicious sticky toffee sponge cake. (see attached photos) It went down an absolute treat and I eventually had to intervene and confiscate it from the lads to get some work done... I can't for the life of me figure out why my diet isn't working!

Thanks

Colin
