GENERAL PROJECT

Aldin Grange Sewage Treatment Works

As part of the Water Industry National Environmental Programme (WINEP), we will be installing chemical dosing plant (ferric sulphate and sodium hydroxide) to enable the site to meet the forthcoming phosphorous discharge consent of 0.7 mg/l, which will apply from April 2025. The improvement works will cost around £5m, and Aldin Grange Sewage Treatment Works is one of 27 sites within the NWG region to receive this upgrade.

Update by Gabrielle Ward

Hello,

It's been just over a month since our last update, since then the concrete bases have been poured to the Humus Settlement Tanks 1 & 2, and our subcontractor Goodwins are currently constructing the new tanks.

We have removed the Bath Tanks from their existing location which has been stoned and reinstated, continuing with preparation works ready to accomodate the new TSR.

Over on the ducting works, the remaining duct chambers and ducts are around 80% complete

The team are carrying out the excavations at the PST ready for the manhole rings to placed. We will then centre core and complete the pipework followed by trimming the sub base to formation level and pouring the concrete blinding. The steel works and shuttering works can then commence and the concrete base can be poured.

Prior to the MCC Kiosk delivery, we will be widening the access track to the STW from week commencing Monday 23rd October.

As always, I have included some photos for you to view. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment below and a member of the team will get back to you.
