GENERAL PROJECT

Carlton & Redmarshall Sewage Treatment Works upgrade

As part of the Water Industry National Environmental Programme (WINEP), we will be installing chemical dosing plant and other improvements to the treatment process to enable the site to meet the forthcoming Phosphorous discharge consent of 0.7 mg/l, which will apply from December 2024. The improvement works will cost around £3.4m and is one of 27 sites within the NWG region to receive this upgrade. Phosphorous is a nutrient and can cause algae to grow in watercourses, reducing biodiversity and river water quality.

Update by Bethany Oakley

Good morning, everyone,

I hope you are well.

Since my previous update, I thought I’d share some further progress that’s been made to the Carlton Redmarshall STW.

The New Primary Settlement Tank coping beam concrete has been poured and all concrete work is now complete on the new tank.

The trench excavation for the Northern Power Grid cable is currently on going ready for an inspection on Wednesday and then install Friday next week.

George Green have installed the Weir Plate, Scum Board and Tripod in the new PST ready for the Half Bridge Scraper to be installed next week.

The launder channel benching is now complete and the auto-delsudge pumping station slab has been poured including the pump plinth.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation and as always, if there is any questions you’d like to ask us then please don’t hesitate to add a comment in the box below and a member of the Project Team will respond as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Bethany
