GENERAL PROJECT

Holywell Sewage Pumping Station

Together with our partners Interserve, we plan to carry out work between the June 2021 until the January 2022 at Holywell Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) although we may carry out some minor enabling works prior to these dates. The project represents a £1.5 million investment which will see an upgrade of the mechanical and electrical equipment within the SPS.

Update by John Young

MCC Building

New mains incomer installation now complete with works continuing to strip and remove the existing cabinets with the replacement cabinets on site and ready to be switched.  The commissioning of the new MCC is taking place at the moment and will ensure that the temporary generator could be stood down whilst the new unit stands to take over.

Dry Well

3 no existing pumps decommissioned and removed from site and 3 new pumps now installed with bespoke pipework with one final pump to be removed and replaced with one no new pump – procured and on site.  This has proven to increase the efficiency of flows from the wet well to be discharged to marden quarry and pumped on to Howden head of works.

Environmental News

Maintained segregation between meadow flowers and site entrance after consultation with the NWG and TDCL Environmental Team.

Give a Day of Your Time

Members of the partnership between TD & NWG undertook the “give a day of your time” initiative which entailed the cleaning of Holywell dene of any detritus.  This was well organised and well attended and beneficial to the community and the natural habitat of the dene itself.  We will look to organise further GADOYT if anyone is interested in proposing ideas or volunteering.
